Robert McEwan

Background

Rob brings to Staples Rodway over 24 years of computer and heavy industry related experience from consulting companies in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He also has extensive experience working in the petrochemical industry with responsibility for IT engineering and service delivery to the Asia Pacific region.

Recently Rob has focused much of his time on the implementation of processes and system integration in the utility industry. His work bridging Geospatial, Enterprise Resource Planning and Field Mobility Solutions has produced significant added value and is an area he continues to focus on.

As a Director in the Business Computer Services division Rob’s internal roles include team leadership and project management. He has a proven record of accomplishment working with diverse teams to deliver projects and has recently cemented his experience by becoming a Prince2 certified Project Management Practitioner.

Specialist Areas

Rob has a wide knowledge of information systems with specialist skills in project management, system analysis and architecture design, root cause analysis, problem-solving, decision and risk analysis techniques and network designing and implementation. This knowledge combined with his background experience means he is able to help customers maximise the functionality and benefits of their computer systems. Rob has also attained first level service delivery ITIL qualification as part of an ongoing commitment to improving internal processes and service delivery.

Personal Interests

Rob is a member of the Pukekura Breakfast Rotary Club and his spare time is largely focused around family activities. He is kept busy supporting his daughters numerous sporting and cultural pursuits.
