Philip Pinckney
(BCom, BA Hons, CA)

Background

Philip has been with the firm since September 2007. He had previous audit experience at Ernst & Young in Wellington (4 years) where clients included a wide range of manufacturing, financial services and service companies, as well various due diligence projects and a secondment to AMP in Sydney.

Following three years contracting in various project roles in the UK and Ireland, Philip had four years as the Financial Accountant at Housing New Zealand Corporation in Wellington. His experience there included systems implementations and the implementation of IFRS. Prior to joining Staples Rodway he spent one and a half years at NZ Aerial Mapping in Hawkes Bay as the financial controller.

Specialist Areas

Philip, as the client manager for the audit division, specialises in auditing (including financial statements, internal auditing, trust account auditing and wine verification audits), but also deals with financial accounting issues (including NZ Equivalents International Financial Reporting Standards) for the firm.

Personal Interests

Philip has two young children, and is enjoying the Hawkes Bay lifestyle, having moved here from Wellington to be closer to family. Philip enjoys playing in the firm’s indoor netball team, as well as participating in social hockey, cricket and tennis.
