Daniel Clausen

Background
Daniel has just recently relocated from Auckland to complement the firm’s tax division. After qualifying as a lawyer from Victoria University in 2000, Daniel spent time with a “big four” accounting firm in Wellington and later in Auckland where he worked as a tax manager on a number of significant property clients. Specialist Areas
Daniel is a client manager specialising in taxation. He brings a wealth of knowledge in tax technical areas relating to companies, unincorporated bodies, trusts and GST. The firm also draws on his experience in dispute matters with the IRD. Personal Interests
Daniel is a keen sportsman with a particular interest in cricket, basketball and golf. He is also a bit of an art/design enthusiast and has a penchant for nice wine; turns out Hawkes’ Bay is the perfect place to be.

- Advising clients on cross-border transactions and repatriation of funds
- The use of Limited Partnerships, Joint Ventures and Foreign Trust structures
- Managing tax audits of clients and preparation of documentation for the disputes process
