David Heald
(CA, BMS (Hons))

Background

David is a director in our taxation services division. He advises a diverse range of clients operating and investing in a variety of industries and markets, both on taxation and general business matters. Before joining Staples Rodway, David worked for a Big Four firm in Auckland where he advised an array of private, public and multinational clients on a myriad of taxation issues.

David has presented at a number of seminars, including presentations for the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Topics have included property and business related tax issues, structuring and the use of Limited Partnerships, and more recently QC/LAQCs and look-through companies.

Specialist Areas

David has been specialising in tax for over nine years. During which time he has been involved in a number of domestic tax structuring and restructuring assignments for corporate and non corporate entities, and more recently this has included frequent use of limited partnership structures. David has a particular interest and specialisation in property taxation.

David has two young children and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
