Melanie joined Staples Rodway in 2007 after moving back to New Zealand from USA and has 10 years accounting experience covering both business advisory and audit in New Zealand and USA.Melanie is a member of the business advisory team and provides business and taxation advice across rural and a broad range of commercial industries. Clients range from self employed people to growing family owned businesses and large farm equity partnerships.

Melanie provides accounting and business advisory services to a range of clients on their financial reporting, taxation, asset protection, succession issues and general business operations. She has also been involved with tax effective structuring for small to medium sized businesses.Melanie has an interest in the agricultural sector and her rural background assists her to have a better understanding of the workings of farming operations. She enjoys assisting clients make use of the various tax options available to farming clients including the different livestock valuation methods available and the appropriate use of each method and the income equalisation scheme.
