Kevin Pitfield

Background
Kevin Pitfield is a Director within Corporate Advisory. Kevin joined Staples Rodway in 1982, initially working directly with Mr Frank Rodway, one of the founding partners from whom the disciplines and intricacies of income tax research were instilled.
Although continuing to pursue a career with an income tax bias, Kevin has a multi-disciplined background with extensive experience in business structuring; all forms of business and share valuation; asset and family succession planning; advising on the taxation issues associated with trusts as well as traditional tax consulting. He has authored and presented numerous papers and presentations for the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and other conference facilitators on a variety of valuation and other topics. As well as taking on a lead role in Staples Rodway’s valuation section, Kevin currently works with a portfolio of significant commercial clients who are involved in a wide range of industries such as importing and distribution, agriculture, property services and investment and finance. Personal Interests
Kevin is married with two teenage daughters and spends much of his free time working on his lifestyle block in South Auckland. He has a passion for motorsport and although not actively involved “behind the wheel” takes every available opportunity to attend track days and motorsport events.

Kevin has significant experience in :
- Co-authoring of Independent Adviser reports as required under Stock Exchange Listing Rules and the Takeovers Act 1993.
- Advising on the value of shares and businesses over a diverse range of industries and for a variety of purposes.
- Direct liaison with other accountancy firms, merchant bankers and legal representatives on significant business and share valuation issues, including taking on such roles as independent expert in instances of shareholder dispute.
- Court appointments and referrals from the Auckland District Law Society in relation to business valuations and processes.
- Financial investigations and litigation support services.
- Co-ordination and involvement in numerous due diligence assignments from both a vendor and purchaser perspective.
- Corporate finance and taxation advice on many acquisitions, divestments and business structures.
- Advising and representing many overseas clients on their business activities and investments in New Zealand.
- Ongoing taxation advice and planning for significant high net worth individuals and families.
- Corporate and business governance issues, having held positions on various client boards and advisory groups.
- Authoring and presenting papers on a diverse range of valuation, taxation and trust matters for various conference co-ordinators and professional bodies.
